My Story
Long ago, when the world was still new, the rivers flowed wild and untamed. At their heart lived Yemoja, mother of waters, the great Orisha of rivers and seas. She was gentle yet powerful, carrying within her the strength of the waves and the tenderness of a mother’s embrace.
Yemoja is called the source of life, for from her waters all beings are nourished. The Yoruba say that when her tears fall, they become rivers that flow endlessly toward the ocean. She protects children, guides mothers, and offers comfort to those who cry out in sorrow.
But Yemoja is not only soft waters. When wronged, her waves rise in fury, reminding all that water can both heal and destroy. She is the balance of nurture and power — the eternal reminder that life itself flows like a river, ever-changing, yet always returning to its source.
